How to get involved in ICHAD 2012
Join the Social Media Team
Help spread the word about ICHAD 2012 and engage social media on hot topics pertaining the health and development of people of African descent throughout the Western Hemisphere. Join the conversation on our Facebook, and post conversations on blogs and other social media. To be listed as a volunteer member of the ICHAD 2012 Social Media Team, send an email to cspencer@ICHAD.com. For Spanish and Portuguese writers, send an email to tnavas@ICHAD.com. Team members will receive guidelines for social media content.
Support the Graphic Design Team
Graphic designers, photographers, and illustrators are encouraged to volunteer their artistic skills and support! Help create promotional fliers. Submit photographs, collages, and illustrations that are aligned with the conference mission and theme. Provide feedback on the conference website and other promotional material. Team volunteers will be acknowledged with a Certificate of Appreciation and listed as volunteer members of the Graphic Design Team in the conference program book. Volunteer during the conference week
Volunteers will help greet international attendees, assist with registration, act as guides during the conference, assist sponsors and exhibitors, support social media activities, and assist with other important tasks. Volunteers will have access to conference sessions outside of their shifts, a lunch each day and a Certificate of Appreciation. You must be at least 18 years old in order to volunteer. Host an Affiliated Independent Event
Hosting an Affiliated Independent Event enables your organization to convene a gathering to discuss the topics and theme of ICHAD 2012 – bringing vital information and dialogue to your constituents and community members who are unable to attend the conference in Baltimore. Organizations wishing to support the conference by hosting affiliated events outside the conference venue (and at times that do not conflict with the conference program) can request to host an Affiliated Independent Event. Affiliated Independent Events must be approved by ICHAD 2012 organizers and should reflect and/or support the vision and goals of the conference. Organizations requesting event affiliation must register a delegate for ICHAD 2012. Approved organizations will receive a special conference logo designating the organization as an ICHAD 2012 Affiliate.
